Just doing some testing with BF3 running in stereoscopic 3D on my HMZ-T1 with this setup and it's working pretty well! After a bit of tweaking with the iPhone sensitivity and mapping all the buttons on the gun I have to say the immersion is amazing. I have strapped my iPhone to the top of the gun and am using an app called air mouse to emulate the mouse using the iPhones gyro and accelerometer. It also has an optical sensor and a battery powered sensor bar like a wiimote. It has 7 buttons in total, two analog sticks, a 4 way d-pad and a trigger on both the firing trigger and the pump action reload. I managed to find an xbox 360 version of the topshot elite gun controller on ebay and it works perfectly with the microsoft xbox controller dongle for the PC. Just an update for anyone who is interested. What do people think? Has anyone here used an iPhone's gyroscopic capability for anything like this? ![]() I have considered getting a wii gun accessory along with a motion plus controller but I can't really see any advantage over the iPhone as they both use the same tech, the iPhone even has a magnetometer for compass direction which I wonder if could be used somehow. ![]() I'm thinking the phone could be mounted on the side of gun grip so I could use my left thumb to toggle this on & off. The gyro mouse is only active when a button is held on the iPhone screen so you can simply let go and re-center to counter drift. I tried using it with BF3 and after tweaking the mouse sensitivity a bit it seemed to work pretty well. I tried it out quickly using an app called Mobile Mouse Pro which gives an option to use the iPhone's accelerometer & gyro to emulate a mouse on your PC. So I'm currently waiting for my HMZ-T1 to arrive and have been thinking about using an iPhone 4S mounted to a gun controller to provide 1:1 motion control for fps games. I have been reading the VR section of the forums for a while and am blown away with the ideas and talent by some people.

Every time you talk to him, he makes a different pun. One thing that makes Spiritfarer so great is the fantastic personalities of the characters, and Albert is no different. There, you’ll see the upgrade option (the icon looks like tools), and you click that to open his shop. Once you get there, simply walk along the pier up to Albert, and talk to him. This is in the Hummingberg: Spring region, the very first region of the game. The coordinates to get there are X: 61, Y: 64. All upgrades are done at Albert’s Shipyard. Whether you’re upgrading your Blueprint Station, Boat Size, or Ship Improvements, you only need to remember one location. Thankfully, instead of having to see different vendors for different types of upgrades, everything is conveniently in the same place. Where to Upgrade Your Ship Image by Melika Jeddi That strategy served me very well, and I’d recommend you to try it too. When I played Spiritfarer, I was saving every last glim to get my ship as large as possible as quickly as possible so that I’d have more space for buildings. You’ll eventually hit quests where it becomes necessary, so why not be prepared and start collecting the required materials ahead of time? Upgrading your ship should be your top priority, even if you don’t technically need to do it yet. The map in this game is huge, and so being able to traverse it quicker will save you valuable time. There are also ship upgrades that improve your speed, and believe me, that makes a huge difference. ![]() It can give you access to buildings that improve the character’s quality of life, and you can make glims (the in-game currency) a lot quicker by selling the products you craft. You’ll also need to substantially upgrade your blueprint station in order to be able to complete many of the spirit quests.Īside from game progression, though, upgrading the ship is just convenient. However, I actually like that about them, as I prefer games where my progress feels earned. These ones also tend to require the trickiest materials in order to purchase them, which means it can take some time to acquire them. Therefore you will 100% need to get the rock, ice, and mist upgrades in order to complete the game. Some upgrades are mandatory in order to progress with the story, as some regions of the map will otherwise be inaccessible. There are many reasons to upgrade your ship, however, I’ll start with the most obvious one. Why Upgrade Your Ship? As such, customizing it is a huge part of the game. This is where you will spend most of your time, and where you develop meaningful connections with the spirits on board. Although you traverse several wonderful locations throughout the story, the one constant is your ship. ![]() The gameplay is impeccable, and overall, this is a must-play for anyone. It remains one of my favorite titles of all time, and I recommend it to everyone who enjoys story-based games. "We believe regulatory intervention that forces content and application providers into paid peering agreements would have the effect of relegating all other traffic to a slow, congested lane," Cloudflare's post concludes. "Contrary to its intent, these proposals would give the biggest technology companies preferred access to the largest European ISPs." Arts and Conlow wrote.Ĭloudflare prefers settlement-free peering, which it says is less likely to create congestion at interconnection points. And seeing as the EU has proposed network usage charges as part of a raft of measures designed to improve connectivity, Cloudflare's pair assert that the plan for network usage fees is a dud. "By mandating that the CAPs pay the large incumbent telcos for peering, the European Commission would therefore be facilitating discrimination against services using smaller networks and organizations that cannot match the resources of the large CAPs."īig Tech – the CAPs – would therefore emerge with arrangements that mean their traffic gets better treatment than other bits and bytes. "By targeting only the largest CAPs, a proposal based on network fees would perversely, and contrary to intent, cement those CAPs' position at the top by improving the consumer experience for those networks at the expense of all others," Arts and Conlow argue. The Cloudflare post adds that the firm already sees carriers give transit traffic a rough ride on congested networks. Netflix shows South Korea a rerun of 'We Won't Pay Your Telcos For Bandwidth'.Euro-telcos call on big tech to help pay for their network builds.Telcos fear Big Tech will bleed them until they can’t afford network builds.Europe to consult on making Big Tech pay for the networks it floods."After all, if telcos can achieve artificially high prices from the largest CAPs, why would they accept much lower rates from any other network – including transits – to connect with them?" the pair ask. The org's senior manager for public policy in Europe, Petra Arts, and director of network strategy, Mike Conlow, argue in a blog post that "Once there's a price for interconnection between CAPs and telcos, whether that price is found via negotiation, or more likely arbitrators set the price, that is likely to become the de facto price for all interconnection." But Cloudflare worries that the EU's network usage proposal would effectively set a price for transit. ![]() You want it to be easy to follow and engaging, but you don’t want to miss out on the essential figures and statistics. When you have a lot of information, it’s hard to figure out how to present it. Graphic designers use infographics to help tell complex stories in a more accessible way than if described by words alone. Instead, they employ various infographic elements such as images, charts, and graphics to help the audience understand a topic. In general, infographics don’t contain much text. The best ones are creative and visually striking, catching the reader’s eye so that they’re eager to learn more. It’ll have text and images throughout the graphic, allowing the reader to easily digest the information. For example, you could create an infographic to visualize the customer journey. Most infographics use some combination of text and visuals to break down a complicated topic. Use them to give an overview of research findings, showcase survey data, raise awareness of an issue, summarize a topic, and much more. They allow you to turn quantitative or qualitative data into stories that resonate. What is an infographic?Īn infographic is a visual tool for communicating information. Every day, we’re surrounded and inundated by data. ![]() What do you think about this trend towards player owned organizations? Do you think this is healthy? Or are there aspects of traditional organizations that you think are also important? You’ve been part of many organizations, Dignitas, EG, but also “modern” ones with DC and NP. I preferred crowdfunding, it made events feel bigger and more important. These 3rd party tournaments may be bigger now than they were before, they are still relatively smaller compared to TI. We have huge tournaments like Epicenter or DAC with 500,000 USD prize pools, which show that the scene has this potential for really big tournaments. Having Majors is good I suppose, but I’m not entirely sure either. In the Dota ecosystem, TI has become even more important. Right now though, only TI has crowdfunding, not even the Majors have crowdfunding. TI was like a 1.6 Million Dollar tournament and other tournaments were a lot bigger than they are now because they had crowdfunding. When asked about the lack of an invite for TI2 qualifiers, you said: “Despite TI being huge, it still is not the only tournament in the world.” - Would you still respond this way if you didn’t make it to TI or its qualifiers? In our last interview, you said something interesting. He has some really cool things he thinks about in a game.īut it’s difficult to answer this, because you play in a team, so you learn from everyone at the same time. The best thing ppd taught me was about your presence of mind, i.e. You learn a lot from every teammate you have, so it’s hard to specifically point out things. How much did playing with world class supports such as PPD or Pie change the way you play/perceive the support position? Are there things you picked up from them that you would’ve never thought of before? So I think it’s difficult for me to answer. All the way back to C9, I don’t think we ever played the 4 role similar to anybody else and I don’t think we’re doing that now either. Now that you’re back to the 4 position, how would you say has the role changed since all the way back when you first picked it up? ![]() I don't think na has ever looked better, so we won't underestimate them. And it's not because we don't think we're a strong team that's able to win, but because we think our opponents for this qualifier are super strong. I don't think we will have an overconfidence problem. Is there any concern of "overconfidence", considering the fairly strong performances and results recently and the fact that everybody looks towards NP as one of the favorites? He makes the second most in-game calls in the team. If I said he seems like the captain behind the captain, would you agree? I’ve listened to him on LAN and it always sounds like he is making a lot of calls. Personally, I didn’t think it was good for Envy to be mid and me to be carry on the same team.įata doesn’t get a lot of attention himself, but is often part of really successful teams. I knew something had to change, because we weren’t going to find any success.ĭid you moving back to the support role have anything to do with how the roster changes were made? When did Team NP decide to change its roster?įor me it was after DAC. But I’d say all the strengths and weaknesses of the players are still the same things. We’ve all gone to different teams where we’ve had some success, so we’ve all learned different things that we can now bring back to the team. To be honest, everyone’s sort of similar. How have Fata, Envy and pie changed the last time you played with them? Even though you can have some idea how well you’re going to work together, you can’t know for sure until you actually play. It’s nice to have a history together, but it’s been a long time since we’ve played together. I think our confidence mostly came from scrims. Coming into Summit I think we were a bit less confident-a bunch of people got sick after Manila/Zotac and the high amount of travel meant we weren't able to practice as much as we would have liked to.ĭo you think knowing each other so well contributed to the early results? 4/5 of your team’s players have played together before after all. It was a bit disappointing that we weren't able to win one of those tournaments. At the time we were performing very well in scrims and that gave us a lot of confidence. ![]() I think going into the first two events we expected to do very well. Did you expect to do this well going into these events and why did the results get worse towards the end? Hello Aui, you guys just came back from three tournaments, Manila Masters, Zotac Cup and The Summit, 3rd, 2nd and 4th place respectively. Ahead of the qualifiers for this year's International, we caught up with Team NP support player Aui_2000 to talk about the new/old team and his thoughts on the scene as a whole, especially with his insight on organizations and their dynamics. ![]() Īside from the unique mycobacterial outer membrane, the cytoplasmic membrane and peptidoglycan contribute to the integrity of the mycobacterial cell just as in both Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria. In response to this, mycobacteriophages are atypical in encoding a lipolytic enzyme, Lysin B, an esterase that hydrolyzes the linkage of the mycolic acids to the peptidoglycan-arabinogalactan complex,. The presence of the mycobacterial outer membrane is highly unusual for bacteria classified within the Gram-positive Actinomycetales. The most notable of these features is the mycobacterial outer membrane, a mycolic acid-rich double layer that is covalently attached to a layer of arabinogalactan, which is turn in covalently linked to the peptidoglycan that surrounds the cytoplasmic membrane. However, mycobacterial hosts have cell wall features that are distinct from most other bacterial hosts and can present additional challenges to phage lysis. Īs with all dsDNA-tailed bacteriophages, mycobacteriophages must ensure lysis of the host cell at the completion of the lytic cycle in order to release progeny phage particles. In spite of this great genetic diversity, all of these are tailed phages containing double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) morphologically classified in the order Caudovirales. In general, mycobacteriophage genomes are characteristically mosaic, with individual genes shared among otherwise unrelated genomes when compared at the amino acid sequence level. An additional eight genomes are singletons and have no close relatives. Genomes clustered together have nucleotide sequence similarity spanning more than 50% of their lengths and similar genome organizations genomes within a subcluster have a greater average nucleotide identity than between subclusters. These phages are highly genetically diverse and when grouped according to gross nucleotide sequence similarity they fall into 15 major clusters (A–O), many of which can be further divided into subclusters. The complete sequences of more than 220 mycobacteriophage genomes have been determined from phages that are known to infect a single common host, M. Mycobacteriophages are viruses that infect mycobacterial hosts such as Mycobacterium smegmatis and Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Most contain three domains with a novel N-terminal predicted peptidase, a centrally located amidase, muramidase, or transglycosylase, and a C-terminal putative cell wall binding domain. ![]() We present here a bioinformatic dissection of these lysins and show that they are highly diverse and extensively modular, with an impressive number of domain organizations. Because mycobacterial peptidoglycan contains atypical features including 3→3 interpeptide linkages, it is not surprising that the mycobacteriophage endolysins also have non-canonical features. These include Lysin B proteins that cleave the linkage of mycolic acids to the arabinogalactan layer, chaperones required for endolysin delivery to peptidoglycan, holins that regulate lysis timing, and the endolysins (Lysin As) that hydrolyze peptidoglycan. Although little is known about how mycobacteriophages circumvent these barriers during the process of infection, destroying it for lysis at the end of their lytic cycles requires an unusual set of functions. The mycobacterial cell wall presents significant challenges to mycobacteriophages – viruses that infect mycobacterial hosts – because of its unusual structure containing a mycolic acid-rich mycobacterial outer membrane attached to an arabinogalactan layer that is in turn linked to the peptidoglycan.
